Iraq, Qatar discuss mutual cooperation

Iraq’s parliament speaker, Mohammed Al-Halbusi, yesterday arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha, in an official visit to discuss mutual ties with the Gulf state, Qatar News Agency (QNA) has reported.

Al-Halbusi and his accompanying delegation were received by the Qatari emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, along with a number of the state officials.

In an official meeting between the two official government delegations, Al-Thani and Al-Halbusi discussed ways to “strengthen relations between Qatar and Iraq and their future prospects.”

The meeting was also attended by the Qatari foreign minister and deputy Prime Minister, Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, the chairman of Qatar’s Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmud, as well as the country’s Prime Minister and interior minister.
