Even Ku-ring-gai Has Its Own Version Of Monopoly

I'm not a fan of Monopoly in general, being a terrible game and a great way to lose friends. But if you'd like to give money to some local schools, Lifeline, and wouldn't mind buying a piece of the Princes Highway or the Ku-ring-gai Town Hall, this is a rather sweet tie-in.

Ku-ring-gai Monopoly is a limited edition cooked up by some local businesses and public organisations, including the Ku-ring-gai Council, Woolies, Bendigo Bank and others. It's really a charity drive based around a Ku-ring-gai themed version of Monopoly, where all proceeds go towards the following:

St Lucy’s School
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter
KYDS Youth Development Services
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury

It's available for $60, and it's actually a really sweet community initiative. It's certainly more appealing than that god-awful Millenial edition Hasbro debuted recently, and it's a clever way to get people to rally behind some community organisations around Christmas.

The full list of locations include:

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden
St Ives Show-ground
Canoon Road Netball Courts
Lane Cove National Park
Garigal National Park
Echo Point Park
Marian Street Theatre
Eryldene Historic House and Garden
Gordon Library
Edenborough Park
Wahroonga Park
Ku-ring-gai Bicentennial Park
Ku-ring-gai Town Hall
Roseville Bridge
Kipling’s Garage Bar
The Swain Gardens
Sheldon Forest
Turramurra Lookout Community Garden
Pacific Highway
Mona Vale Road
Bobbin Head Road
Ku-ring-gai National Park

I don't know about you, but placing houses on Mona Vale Road and the Pacific Highway seems like a good strategy. Art really does imitate life.
