Nicki Minaj's 'Queen' Album Goes Gold
Nicki Minaj's Queen album has earned its first certification from the
Recording Industry Association of America. The new album from the Young
Money rapper has officially reached gold status.

Released on Aug. 10, the album took almost a month to reach the gold
standard. According to RIAA records, the project reached the milestone
on Thursday (Sept. 6). The album contains two singles that have also
earned plaques in "Chun-Li," which went platinum, and "Barbie Tingz,"
which is gold. The album currently sits at No. 7 on the Billboard 200
after debuting in the No. 2 spot.
Since the album dropped, the talk has more-so been about the controversy
that surrounded it, as Nicki blasted Travis Scott and his manager after
she failed to nab the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album's chart from
his clutches in the week following the album's release. She claims he
used shady tactics to pump up his album sales.
Queen, Nicki's first album since 2014's The Pinkprint, features guest
appearances from Lil Wayne, Eminem, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Swae Lee,
Future, Labrinth and Foxy Brown. In comparison, The Pinkprint took two
months to reach gold status and has since been certified platinum two
times over.
In other Nicki-related news, she recently got into a heated exchange
with Cardi B at 2018 New York Fashion Week that had the internet going
nuts.
