Cardi B backs Cynthia Nixon for governor after rival Minaj backs Cuomo

Rapper Cardi B on Thursday backed Cynthia Nixon in the Democratic gubernatorial primary — after her rival Nicki Minaj urged her fans to vote for Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“Polls close around 8PM .NEW YORKERS VOTE NOW !!!!!! #cynthia #jumaane,” Cardi B wrote to her 3.27 million Instagram followers, alongside a photo of Nixon and lieutenant governor candidate Jumaane Williams — although polls actually close at 9 p.m.

Queens-raised Minaj — who is in the middle of a beef with the Bronx-bred “Bodak Yellow” singer — had tweeted to her 20.4 million Twitter followers on Wednesday: “New Yorkers & all NYCHA residents its time to get JUSTICE, VOTE Thur. Sept. 13 for Gov. Cuomo, Lt. Gov. Hochul & Tish James.”

Attorney general candidate Zephyr Teachout — who’s running on a slate with Nixon and Williams — then tweeted with a thinly veiled attempt to exploit the feud for an endorsement from Cardi B.

“I was in awe of @iamcardib dancing and performing while seven months pregnant at Coachella,” she tweeted.

But the rapper didn’t mention Teachout at all in her Election Day Instagram post.
