The special adviser to the president on political affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Gulak has declared that there is no alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan, threatening to resign his appointment if his boss refuses to make himself available for the presidential race.
Gulak who spoke at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Unity Rally for President Jonathan Sunday, in Owerri said only Goodluck Jonathan administration can strengthen democratic institutions and entrench the rule of law.
Addressing a mammoth crowd that thronged the Rosy Arts Centre venue of the rally, Gulak highlighted the numerous achievements of the Jonathan administration. Earlier, the chairman of the Unity Rally, Chief Donatus Nwoga expressed satisfaction with the performance of the president but regretted that the ruling party was fast losing grounds in the state.
Nwogu stressed the need for both national and state exco of the party to rise to the challenge of re-capturing the state.
Others who graced the occasion were Senator Abubukar Gada, General lbrahim Sabo, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Hon. Ned Nwoke, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi and Engr. Kunle Yusuf.
